My learning experience.
I am part of the ISOWRIMO writing group which is run by Sinclair Macleod of Indie Authors World. The latest challenge was to come up with a stressful situation for a character I have been describing.
I wasn’t sure what the situation was going to be. I let the thought process run in my brain knowing that something would come to me. It came in a flash over the weekend and it was a wonderful thought!
I stopped writing my novel and got to work with my stressful situation. I had great fun thinking up the background and then writing the situation.
As well as thoroughly enjoying writing something new I also realised that I needed time away from my novel. I am now going back to my novel with a fresh attitude and enthusiasm.
Taking a break from your writing takes the pressure off the need to be constantly producing quality writing and aids the flow of creative thinking.
