Book Weel Scotland fun! 2019

Book Weel Scotland fun! 2019

I spent a fabulous day at Milngavie Library for Book Week Scotland 2019. I read my story ‘The Substantial Cake’ to a group of adults and children.

I was a little nervous although I had practised reading my story at home. I really enjoyed putting expression into the story and emphasising all the parts I needed to. Everyone clapped at the end which was great. I hope they enjoyed themselves.

There were other authors there and it was great chatting to them. We were all at different stages of our publishing journeys. Everyone had a different book or books published. Among the authors were Tracy MacKenzie, Katie Lorna McMillan, Colin Stevenson and Victoria Williamson.

Katie Lorna McMillan’s character Haggis MacDougall is brilliant.

I was lucky enough to sell two books (I Can Create Stories).

I was at a very interesting Indie Authors World meeting too, at Waterstones, Sauchiehall St.  Chris Tait was there with her new book ‘Diablo and the Leprechaun Figurehead. Terry H Watson was there with her new book ‘Before Lucy’.

Both Chris Tait and Terry talked about their books telling us how the ideas came about and their writing processes. It is always interesting to hear how other writers approach their writing. Sections were read out from both books which had us all wanting to know more.

The conversation afterwards was great. Some new people came along too which was wonderful to see. If you write or would like to please come along everyone is welcome.

Are you reading a book? If yes, what is it about?

I'd love to hear from you if you'd like to contact me.
